Planning And Surprises

Did the New Year's brainstorming session with Dave G. over brunch. Still more to plan but it was a good start. My sis took a tour of the hospital today she's feeling really crappy. So she won't be flying out tomorrow but the next day. I didn't have the time to do much today so today's sketch is just a rough composite of two previous sketches. I'm going to clean it up and ink it out hopefully tomorrow. Night All.

Recovering And Planning

Back home and recovering from the Holiday's with the family. I enjoyed seeing everyone. Tomorrow, I'm going to see what I can come up with for New Years, which means Dave G. and I are doing a breakfast brainstorming season. I also need to catch up on my email, so that tomorrow as well. So I drew this sketch of Lil'mana for a story I'm working on. Li-ma (She prefers that to the aforementioned diminutive.) is one of my favorite characters. I think the rough came out okay. Cake Presents and Christmas Trips

Spent all day wraping gifts, planning surprises and baking a cake for the Christmas holiday. There wont be any updates starting tomorrow until I get back the day after christmas or so. Due to being so busy I didnt' get a chance to sketch today and my computer is having a tantrum with the piece I wanted to post today so no sketch sorry. Night All.

Machinery has always been hard for me. I think it's all the lines. Today's sketch is of a motorcycle that I'll be tweaking to make one of my characters rides for a story I'm working on. Night All.

Moving Slow

I'm moving a bit slow today. I dusted of the treadmill for a run which felt good. Today's sketch is part of a larger panel. It's still quite rough but she sure looks like she's in trouble. Night all.

Nerfel!

My sis made it safe from California to Michigan for the Holidays. I'm feeling a bit under the weather maybe from all the snow shoveling. I'll blame it on that. I did some sketching today and I liked most of what I did. Today's sketch is a segment of a larger panel. It's still in layout but coming along nicely. In other news, Christmas shopping is done. Snow Is Shovelled

2hours of shovelling the drive. I keep telling myself it's good exercises. Today's sketch is out of the sketch archive. Well call her H for now. I think I'm going to update her look a little bit for revamped story. Night all.

Blizzards of Cleaning

I spent most of the day cleaning again today. I was a good day for it due to the snow storm. I'll have to shovel snow tomorrow, it will be good exercise. I lined out and flatted the last couple day's sketches. I think it came out okay. Night All.

Gah! Snow And Pasta

I guess we're in for a good amount of snow today and tomorrow. I'm a bit skeptical. It is really cold out with the wind though. It may be related that all my joints ache today but I'm really way to young for that sorta thing. In any case I did lots of house cleaning today It was really time to make some head way on that. I also managed to get some sketching in. The character in today's sketch is the same character as the sketch from the 11th. Shhhh! She's in her secret identity. I like the way the hair in this sketch is flowing. In other news, I made some excellent pasta today. I added some red wine vinegar which gave it a nice bright tangy tastes. It really helped out the tomatoes. Also the cookies are still delicious. Night All.

Neon Ninja Kittens

I saw I Am Legend today it was really good. Upon returning home I made cookies Oatmeal Raisin. They are delicious. Did this quick sketch while watching the news. I think the South Koreans are planning something and there secret weapons program began today with glow in the dark cats. I can't think of another possible explanation for engineering cute adorable white kittens to glow creepy red in the dark. Come to think of it maybe there in league with the people who engineered the electric eel powered Christmas tree. Evil I tell you EEEEVVVIIILLL! In other news related to the sketch. I like the way the lips in the top panel came out. Night All.

Grumble!

Got my hair cut today all nice for Christmas. Still need to get all my shopping done. Other than that it was a laundry day. I found that my domain name expired so I fixed that but now I can't log in to reload the website. I guess that's fine as long as I can when I get the latest version finished. I'm kinda feeling today's sketch. I love the mouth. I'm going to see I am legend tomorrow. I hope it's really good. Night All.

Good Smoothies and Failed Energy Bars

I tried to make some Energy Bars today but it came out more like bread than crunchy oat bars. I'll try again some other time. My smoothy was delicious however despite having to shave the ice out of the ice bucket. The ice was all clumped and frozen together. Today's sketch was a real quick one of some young lady at the mall. She was waiting for someone I suppose, but she looked really cool doing it. I do wonder where her coat was being winter and all. Illustrator to Flash = Headache's For Me

I've been working in Illustrator and importing stuff in to Flash. This caused me great headache's today mostly because this is the first time I've done this. It's simple enough but I'm still getting use to all the new features and I don't know Flash all that well yet. Ah well I'll only learn by trying. I did get to sketch today so I did a quick one of one of my favorite creations. I think it came out well over all there needs to be some tweaking in the arms and hair. I think she ended up looking determined about something. That's it for tonight. Night All.

Safe Airport Trip

Mom and Meme made it safe to the airport today, headed for Florida and warmer weather. I also saw the golden compass today. It was okay. Today's sketch is out of my sketch archive again. I love the hair and stance. I think she looks tough. Night All.

The Circles The Circles

Spent most of the day grinding out some website structure in Illustrator. The circles are killing me, mostly cause I'm not paying proper attention. Today's sketch is from my sketchbook archive again. I really like the flow of it. I need to work up the forms a bit to make the finished panel. That's it for tonight. Night All.

Thribbit!

Not much today. Worked a lot in Illustrator today hopefully something to show for it soon. Did a quick sketch of one of a character I'm going to use in a story. It's still rough but it came out nice. Night All.

Good Friends And The Motor City Brewing Company

It was a joyous day today. I got to hang out with Rick (who is back from Iraq) and Dave (relocated from Pittsburgh) at the Motor City Brewing Company. It's a pretty awesome place. Small and with a trendy atmosphere, the food was eclectic and delicious. It wasn't smokey big plus. Best of all the Ginger Beer(Ginger Ale, Vernor's) was delicious with a great smell and light taste with no bitterness afterwords. I would definitely like to hang out there again. Today's sketch is from the archive again since I spent my day reconnecting with some good friends. I like the movement in it and the shape of the body. Night All.

Clean Teeth and Christmas Shopping

I went for the old teeth cleaning today. Everything check out okay. I went shopping for some potential Christmas gifts. I only have a few people checked off as of yet. Not a lot of sketching today so I again pulled from my sketch archive this picture of a gorgon. Snaky hair is fun. Okay I'm off to an early bed tonight. Night All.

Meme's Birthday Now With Cake

I spent most of the day today making a cake for meme's birthday. It was a red velvet cake and it turned out pretty well, despite the fact that I accidental put twice as much butter in the cake as I was suppose too. It still tastes great though. The sketch today is out of my sketch book archive. I really like this character and plan on using her in a story I'm working on. I like this out fit on her as well. That's it for today. Night All.

Having A Meh Day

I'm having one of those days where no things working out and I feel all wobbly. Hopefully a good nights sleep will fix me up. Tomorrow is meme's birthday so I'm going to bake a cake for her. I was watching the news today and I found it hilarious that Clinton is attacking Obama on the basis that his grade school teachers in Indonesia said that when he was five he said he was going to be president. Doesn't just about every kid say that at some point along with astronaut and a superhero? Oh well it gave me a laugh. Furthering my computer skills today I learned a bit more about Adobe Illustrator including how to make and imprint 3D shapes. I sketched this up today and I really like it. I'm definitely going to do some thing with these big headed characters. Night All.

Round Heads

I was working on my website today a little and in the process did this sketch of one my website characters. I think it came out really quite well. In other news, I've got to figure out why my hands are hurting so much. I had assumed it was just because of the erratic weather, but now I'm not quite so sure. Night All.

We Had Snow Really We Did

We had snow at the beginning of the day but it was all washed away by the rain. My hands really hurt today I'm not sure why maybe the front moving through or some thing, consequently I slacked off drawing much today. So, I went to my sketch books to find a sketch for today's post and found this one. I really like it in spite of the messed up hand. Blogger seems to be still trying to fix the picture issue from the end of last month. I hope they fix it soon. Okay that's it for today. Night All.

Oatmeal Cookies

I baked delicious Oatmeal Cookies today while watching meme. Meme really enjoyed watching me bustle around the kitchen mixing up the ingredients. I did get somethings done today, including this sketch. I'm not sure where exactly I'm going with it but it's off to a good start. That's it for today. Night All.

Missed Posts And Digital3D

I'm not sure how exactly I missed posting twice in a row but I did. In any case, I saw Beowulf yesterday with my dad. The movie was pretty good and it was in 3D which was very cool. I've been feeling a bit under the weather lately, but I think I'm getting better now. I got some sketching done today. This sketch is a snippet from a panel in a story I'm working on. I like the pose of the character overall, but the face needs a little tweaking. I also did some web page design today. It turned in to more of an art project than a productive design though. Hopefully, I will have better luck tomorrow. Night All.

The Return Of Pie

Thanksgiving was wonderful. I really enjoyed seeing my aunt, uncle and cousin. There was lots of pie. Though the family does seem to be holding back as compared to previous years. I cooked the apple pie again this year it was much better than last years. I don't think I'll ever get to be as good as meme at baking apple pie but maybe I'll get close someday. I didn't get too much done over the holiday in the drawing arena. I did do quite a bit of scripting. Hopefully, I'll be able to turn that around into pages in a timely manner. Today's sketch was one of the quick morning sketches that I did over break before I headed out to get the paper and cook breakfast. Not sure were this is going to end up, but I like the general feel of the character. Well, in any case I'm home now. Night All.

Pre-travel Day

It was a very busy day today. So not much in the way of art period today. I'm pretty much packed for the trip up north I think. There may not be any updates while I'm up north. This is a weekish long event. If I do manage a post there probably won't be any art. Photos maybe but not sketches. I did ink and flat out this sketch from earlier this week. Tackling The Evil Words Again

I spent a lot of time today reworking my dialogue in various scripts. I felt I got a lot accomplished, despite drawing little today. I did this little sketch in between typing my scripts in to the computer. Yes I usually end up writing them out long hand and then type them to the computer. I know this is not very efficient but it's more comfortable that way. Maybe when/if I get a tablet PC I'll just write them directly in to the computer. I like the post in today's sketch but I think it's a bit of and a maybe a tad overly distorted but I'm also sleepy right now so, maybe not. Night All.

Quick Sketches With Big Heads

Kind of a lazy dreary day today. My hands are working somewhat better today. After watching the democratic debate today on CNN, I am reminded how much the news media treats a political debate like a football game. It's kind of really, really annoying and ridiculous. Today's sketch was a quick test redesign of some characters I've been wanting to work in to a story I'm working on. I think they look okay and probably pretty good with a couple little tweaks. My heads were getting big on me again today for some unknown reason. There the right size for kids but not adults the ratio is off a bit. I need to work on noticing that before I finish a sketch. Well maybe it's not too bad. In any case, Night All.

Hands Feel Better Yet Still Clumsy

Well my hands feel better but I am still fumbling with them. I had several clumsy instances today resulting in large messes I had to clean up. Hopefully my hands will function better tomorrow. I did sketch this out though. It still needs some tweaking so well call it a work in progress. Night All.

Cute Advertisement

Not much to report today. I'm headed off to do some more fly fishing with dad tomorrow, so no update Sunday or Monday. I only managed to get a little sketch time in today. This is a quick sketch off a advertisement that I thought was cute. Night All.

A Cleanified Garage

I spent most of the day cleaning up things including the garage in preparation for winter, hence not much sketching. I did manage some flatting colors though on an earlier sketch. I think it's coming along nicely. I think she looks rather amused. Night All.

A Successful Fishing Trip.

Well the fishing trip was a success and I'll be going again with dad on Sunday and Monday. I caught a really nice sized Steele. It was really cold out though not the worst weather I've fished though at least it wasn't raining/snowing/sleeting. Dad caught some fish too which made it a great trip. This is a quick 5 minute or so sketch of me holding the fish I caught. Well that's it for tonight. Night All.

Pulled Porky Goodness

I didn't get a lot of sketching done today. I did however make those pulled pork sandwiches despite small issues like the oven going on strike. I came out really well all though there is way to much to eat. I also sat down and read the latest issue of Time. It's one of those cool important inventions issues. The sketch to the left is of the new space suit design away with the bulky suits in comes the form fitting ones we were all promise in Sci-Fi. The sketch is of the MIT Professor who designed it wearing her invention. I think it looks really awesome. There are tons of cool stuff in the issue you should all go pick up a copy. I will be going on another fishing trip with dad this Tuesday and Wednesday. Yes I'm aware of the cold snap. I think it's becoming family tradition to fly fish while it's snowing. So there won't be updates for those days. Night All.

Odd Jobs Around The House

Today was a day of changing light bulbs, fixing window blinds, laundry, vacuuming, changing car batteries and fixing doorbells. Tomorrow, I make pulled barbecue pork sandwiches with spicy slaw topping. The pork butt already been marinating in the fridge for a couple hours now. Consequently not a lot of sketching to be done today, I did sketch out another character design. There are several things that need to be added to this sketch but I do like the pose and the hidden eye. Night All.

Soooo Tired

I didn't have much time today to do much of anything. On top of that I'm a bit tired, might be coming down with some thing. I did manage to do some quick flatting and lay in some shading guides on some stuff. This is one of the panels i worked on. I threw the sketch up of this earlier. I rather like the colors and simple shading so I might not take it much farther than this. I sleep on it. Night All.

Panzanella

The day moved really fast today. I made a wonder full dinner though. Panzanella, roasted honey glazed sweet potatoes and maple mustard chicken, it was so yummy, especially the panzanella. There was frost on the ground this morning so I guess the weather decided we might have a winter. Didn't get much sketch time today so today sketch is just a quickie face study. Night All.

All Day Fighting Software

I spent most of the day fighting with software to make computers safe. Boring Boring Boring. Highlight of the day was when Norton told me that payment by credit card was not available in my region on one computer and yet accepted it perfectly fine on the laptop siting six inches to the left. Right. Another sketch out from a clothing magazine reference I really like the attitude of it. Night All.

Halloween

It was Halloween today. Probably one of my favorite holidays. There were a few trick or treaters, but still the candy was over purchased. Ah well. I like the pose of today's sketch and the spiffy up do. Night All.

Back Safely From Kentucky

I had a great time visiting the relatives down in Kentucky. Pretty tired right now so not much to say. The hills were pretty all decked out in fall colors set against blue skies. These are some of the sketches I did while watching UK play football with my Uncle Homer. Night All.

Weekend Family Trips

I'll be visiting my relatives this weekend. I leave Friday morning and come back some time on Sunday. So there will be no updates over that period. Today's up date are of a couple of twins I'm working on for a story I'm scripting up. I posted the one on the right previously but I wanted to lose the bulky gauntlets. Well that's it for now. Shoe Drawings Of Shoes

Today was one of those crisp cold autumn days. We haven't had a lot of them yet. The leaves are coming down and the colors are changing too. I drew lots of feet and shoes again today. All Day With Meme

I spent all day with my meme (grandmother) today. I made breakfast and dinner. We watched lots of cooking shows and a little bit of new. Then we watched some of dancing with the stars before she got sleepy. She was in a really pleasant mood all day today which was wonderful. I got a lot of drawing done today.
