Busy And Productive Now With White Chicken Chili

I was to busy to sketch again today so, I pulled the latest design of on of my favorite characters off of my character archive on my computer. I've tweaked her costume a around a bit since I first though her up and I really like this incarnation. I'm hoping to do a web comic with her as a main character in the near future. I'll let you all know when I get around to that. In other news I made some wicked white chicken chili today and a great smoothie with all kinds of delicious fruits in it. I'm pleased with my self so I felt like sharing. I've got my newest incarnation of my web page started on it just a file in illustrator right now but it's moving forward. Well I'm exhausted so, night all.

Ten Minutes To Sketch A Migrain

Wasn't able to sketch much today due to many distractions and a killer headach. I'm still working on my male forms trying to get them right. I do like how the pants came out though. Not much to say today so I'm off to nurse my headach with advil and try and get some sleep.

Shiney Programs And Missed Updates

First off apologies for missing yesterdays update. My goal is to update everyday, but inevitably I will miss an update here or there. Yesterday was a bit crazy and I got my shiny new adobe creative suite CS3 to play with, consequently I lost track of time. I'm messing around with these 3 panels. The characters are overlapping the panel boarders and the background is contiguous across the panels. I'm not sure it works. I think I like it. I think. I'm going to seek advice on thedrawingboard.org. I think there are some inking inconsistencies so I may re-ink it. In other news, my jaw/neck is killing me. I'm not sure why but it's crazy painful. I'm going to take some Advil and maybe switch to a different pillow. Well I'm going to try and find some relief for this and get some sleep. Night All.

A Few Minutes Of Doodling

Only got a few minutes of sketching today. Spent the rest of the day consumed with other tasks. Watched the Dem's debate tonight. I'm to tired to formulate all my opinions on the debate in to a coherent rant. I'll put one together tomorrow. Night Everyone

Slowness and Computers

The cleaning epic continues and my computers are freaking out on me. In any case while cleaning, I ran across some little cartoons I did last year. I think I will touch them up and give them a proper treatment. I called the strips Meanwhile the Realities. There kind of a juxtaposition of information humor. Here's one in all it's sketchy glory from 2006. I went running for all of ten minutes today. Nature decided to pour ran on me. I did however notice that the leaves are beginning to change colors which puts me in a good mood. Hopefully I'll get a chance to sketch tomorrow. Night All.

Shhhh! Be Vary Vary Quite I'm Hunting Dust Bunnies.

I spent most of the day cleaning again. Well that and reading the Zuda submission and legal stuff. Legalize makes my head hurt. I do think I may make a submission though. I've got a story in mind for it. In any case while cleaning, I found the sketch book I was looking for that had my initial sketches of some of the characters for a story I'm working on. The upper right has the strike and covert ops squads. The Intel squad is composed of two of the characters from earlier. The rest of the page is composed of snippets of character interaction studies. These were all the initial designs for the characters and I may change them up before they get put in the revamped story. Well it's been a long day for me but I'm feeling more productive, so that's always good. Night All.

Cleaning House Now With Less Magazines

I spent all day working on cleaning the house because that's what you do on Sunday. Therefore, I didn't really get a chance to sketch much. I did how ever draw a quick sketch and ink up of Little Ulti . I'm hoping to get some strips with her in it up soon. I'm still tweaking her out fit though so well see. Well I need to excavate my bed which is where all the stuff that was one the floor is now. At least I got ride of all those old reference magazines that were siting in a corner. Hopefully, I'll wake up in time to get the trash picked up tomorrow morning. Night all.

Spoilers Now In Color

Here's the finish version of my contribution to the Stephanie Brown AKA Spoiler meme Dean Trippe started. Go see all the great takes on her. I suppose I'm happy with my redesign. I really liked the mask and hood she wore in her spoiler costume so I wanted to keep that. I liked the purple, black and white color scheme too, so I kept it but played up the black more. I didn't want to just draw just a standing pose, so I drew her in the middle of a fight. The goal was to show off her attitude. I'm not sure any of it works, but I do like the line the head and arm form. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Dreaming Of Spoilers

Dean Trippe is doing a Spoiler(Stephanie Brown) meme, so I thought I would give it a crack. I really loved this character and wish she was still around. She was one of the characters that fell victim to a trend a couple of years back where DC was killing off characters. This will be my contribution when I finish it tomorrow. It's a little bit of a different take on her. I think I'm going to stick with the white, black, and purple as a color scheme. In other news website is almost done and is still eating me. Night All

Topless Nudity

Well technically it's true. I've been working on my male forms a lot this week, which hasn't been a whole lot. The website I've been working on needs major tweakage done to it in order to fulfill last minute changes to the plans. Seems to always happen when you think your done with something. In any case I think this one came out okay. He's suppose to be kind of casually sexy. I'm not sure it's quite there yet, although I'm not sure what it needs. Any suggestions would be welcome. A Bit Of A Longish Day

Been a long day. I was out most of it so I didn't really get to much accomplished today. I did pick up a new sketch book while I was out. I have almost filled my latest one up. So this is the latest sketch there are going to be a few tweaks to it before it's finish but I like the way they're starting out. In other news I'm almost finished with the web page project. I feel a wait is beginning to lift. I've also finished the laying out the background for page one of a story I'm working on. Well that's it for tonight. Later All.

Words They Are Eating Me

Working on a script today and the words are eating me. The first page has lots of panel and is really word. The one set of sketches is all for the TV anchors on a TV in the background. Can you guess who the photo references were? The second is a quick rough sketch of two of the main characters. I need to work on my boys so probably many male sketches up this week. Germination And Ideas

The first sketch is of a character of mine which, I'm working on revamping for an story. Even though I did these a while back I'm only now finding a place for her. I've started scripting the story up just today. These are the old character designes which I do like. I'll try and post a sketch of the updated design sometime next week. The second sketch is of a character I'm working on as well but not for the same storyline. More on here later. In other news I'm nearing completion of my website project nemisis. It's making me feel much more at easy now that thats nearly completed. Night All.

Quick Posts And Two Page Spreads

Okay this is the full two page spread of Þrúðr. I posted a slice of this earlier and some character sketches. Obviously I've already colored and finished it as you can see from my little banner tag up there. I just thought you all would enjoy seeing the full spread. I took out the color though so you could see all the line work more clearly. I really am enjoying this little character introduction story. There will be many more pages of this in the future. So what do you all think is she going to be snake food? In other news I've been enjoying catching up on my comic podcasts all week I can't wait for next week. Lemony Successes

Today was exhausting. I got everything done so that's good, but not a lot of time to draw today. This panel is a continuation from an earlier sketch, obviously still in progress. I'm having a bit of trouble deciding how I want to finish it out. I'll probably seek advice if nothing comes to me tomorrow. I made salmon and noodles in a lemon bechamel sauce for dinner it was quite successful. Well more tomorrow hopefully. Night all.

Murfulp!

Feeling drained today. These are some panels from a story I'm thinking of revamping. The lead character's name is Zhi. I'm thinking of refining it to be sort of more patterned after The Odyssey. It's a bit of a space opera too. I played around with it a while back I think I'll give it another crack. I found another comic podcast, Around Comics. I'm enjoying it. I think I've whittled my current web page project down to a just a few more days. I can then get back to sketching. Well I'm exhausted. Night All.

Eyes Wobbly But Almost Done

My eyes are wobbly but I've nearly completed the company website I've been working on. I'll be happy when it's done and I can move on to my own web page. Didn't get to sketch today so instead, I looked though some of my portfolios and found this page from a short story I'm working on. It's a crime story with a a fantasy twist to it. I inked and water colored it old school. However, the panels, bubbles, and text are done in Illustrator. I think this page came out well I like the angles I drew in panels one and four, two is okay, I'm not totally in love with three but it works okay. I like the way the colors came out. I'll try and post some more finished sequential stuff at least once a week, see how that works out. Well I'm tapped out for tonight. Sleep well everyone.

A Very Busy Day

So very busy today I didn't get to do much of anything. I pulled these all out of my sketch books. I've finally settled on a design for this character which I'm tentatively calling Sam while I'm working her up. I want her to look hard and not cheese cakey. Honestly, I'm not too sure how to go about that. So I'm putting her in functionally practical full coverage clothing and making her buff. Not sure It's working though. I'll probably tweak her a bit more before I'm done designing. I'll post some finish pieces of her hopefully later this weekend. In other news, new comics today, I can't wait to get to the shop and read the new Thor book. The art is gorgeous and I'm digging the story direction so far. Also New Avengers is out today too (my vote for the skull in new avengers is Night Nurse... think about it you'll see why it's a good person to impersonate) and so is the wedding special at dc. Why is it when i see Lex in his armor I can only picture him stealing cake. Well I think that proves I am sleepy tonight. Good night everyone and take care.

Back From Fishing

I'm back from fly fishing with my dad. It rained for half the day but and never got up to the promised 69 degrees but I had fun anyway. The salmon were few and far between, we were to early for the run this year. Next week the salmon and stealhead fishing will probably be great. I did catch a nice little rainbow trout about 12" would have made a nice lunch but we do catch and release. Here's a quick sketch of me fishing. I didn't use any photo reference so there's a lot wrong with it. Today, I finally got itunes to start collecting wordballon podcasts which is really exciting. I added links to wordballon and comic pants to the side bar of the blog. Everyone who enjoyes reading comic should give them a listen. I also added a link to the drawing board which is a really great art board community. I'm feeling much better and I got back on track with my running today which made me feel good. Busy Day And A Quick Post

A very quick post today with a quickie sketch. I'll be out fly fishing with my dad on Monday, so no post Sunday or Monday most likely. Now I've go to double check my packing so I'm out of here. Sleep well everyone.

Feeling A Bit Better But Still Drained

I'm feeling some what healthier today. It always seems that my brain is the last to recover from illness. In any case I've pulled two sketches out of my books and they ended up looking pretty good next to one another. I think I might just go with this instead of what I had originally planned for these. Needs a background and a few tweaks but I think it could work. I'm still pretty tired so I'm going to crash now. Hopefully, I'll be well enough to get a run in some time tomorrow. Night everyone.

Definitely Getting Sick

Yeah I'm definitely coming down with something or other. I pulled these from my sketchbooks today. The character's name is Saga. Saga's fun yet tedious to draw with all the tattoo's. I think the bike came out okay. I'm not usually very good at vehicles. The big head in the bottom of the second picture is another character but related to the her story. Okay sleep is calling or I'm going in to a coma from illness. Sleep well everyone.

Sickness n' Monsters

I think I'm coming down with something, not positive yet but I'm feeling kinda run down. I was out most of the day today so I didn't get much time to sketch anything and as I previously stated I'm not really motivated to surpass my exhaustion to get stuff out of my sketchbooks. I did find the time to sketch this boy out. I'm not really sure where I'm going with him yet. Seems obvious to use it in something with Þrúðr. I'm just to tired to think about it right now. I'll work em over abit when I get the chance and see what comes of it. I think the tentacles need to be longer and the musculature more pronounced, but that just what I'm thinking right now. In any case, I am headed to bed. Sleep well everyone.

Calendars and Character Sketches

I spent most of the day making a xhtml calader with spry enhancements for a webpage. So much coding eyes are all googlely. I think it worked out in the end though. In other notes buying post labor day fruit isn't always the best idea apparently. I was some what disappointed in the quality while I was selecting some to consume. The bananna's rocked though. Today's sketches are from a short story I'm working on. It's a character introduction arc. As ussual every thing needs a little tweeking but I think I'm on the right track now. Minor Victories In Coding And Family Time

I managed to make the spry widgets in my Dreamweaver CS3 trial version work for me today. They were previously pointing and making fun of me. So I have made a minor victory now I'm going to tackle making a dynamic calender. I'm not exactly optimistic. I watched some TV with meme today(that's my grandmother for those of you who don't know). We mostly watched Food Network. I drew some sketches of my family from so pictures taken last month. In the top left corner are my sis and her friend Zephyr. They were at the beach wearing those ridiculously over sized glasses that are popular now. My grandmothers in the upper right corner. She was laughing up a storm in the picture. My mom's cute puppy Lily is at the bottom she's like a tiny fluff ball or a mop. In the picture she had just gotten back from the groomers. They had put little feathers on her head. It looked like she had a feather cap on and was hilarious. Poor Lily. The other picture is from a fashion show some where. All the models were wearing head scarfs. I was pretty cool. I was a bit tired and distracted today so there are a lot of flaws in the sketches. The biggest flaw is that for some reason I drew everyone's head vertically squishified. Ah well I'll have to revisit this when I'm not as tired. Speaking of which I'm off to collapse. Night all.

Minor Victories And Good Spy Movies

More pages from my sketch books. The first one is a hodgepodge of random characters. I drew the one girls hands way way to big but maybe there suppose to be that way. The second one I drew while watching The Company. I think it looks fairly spyish. Well today I learned more xhtml than I ever wanted to know and lots more about Dreamweaver. On the plus side I'm that much closer to finishing up dating my web page. The downside is I just spent all day looking at code. Well I'm going to collapse now, later everyone.

First Post Of A New Month

I have a couple things in the works but trying to get my website back up and running is eating my soul. My Soul I tell you. Well in any case I spent the last two or three days trying to fix a problem that didn't exist. I just figured it out a few minutes ago, so now I'm back on track sorta. Tonight sketch is again from one of my recent sketch books. I tried to digitally ink this in Illustrator. Illustrator is not really always friendly to your lines. Well lesson learned. Okay I'm exhauted tonight but at least I feel accomplished...despite the fact that I didn't get much done today. Ah well it's the little victories that count the most. Night all.
