It's A Funky Monkey

Part of the refined version of my batsquatch character design. I'm still thinking about the colors and such. I like the attitude of the character. When I get the full character design up I'll talk more about the concept. This is for the storyline I'm working on with Li-ma in it. Night All.

Shiny New Computer Case

My shiny new computer case came in today so I'll be spending this evening setting it up. Todays sketch may look familiar. I tried to draw this character in this pose before but i wasn't happy with it so I'm trying again. I like this a little better than the old one well see how it inks out. Well back to the computer. A Very Dreary Day

I was a very dreary day today. Rain all day too. I got some scripting done which was good. Today's sketch is for a panel of a story I'm working on. I like the action in it but I think a different angle would work better maybe. Night All.

My Head Has Jackhammers In It.

It feels like there is a construction zone in my head today. So not much got done. Today's sketch is from my sketch archive. I like some of the design points in this character but I think some need to change. Okay off to aspirin and bed. Night All.

A Very Long Day

It was a very long day today. I got a lot done. I can't seem to figure out how to get the built in fan out so I'll have to buy a new box for the computer. The bad thing is all the cases that fit my gear with the appropriate cooling are kind of expensive. So now I'm trying to decide weather to buy an expensive box (this would really deplete the savings) and look at it as an investment or buy a low end one (easily in the budget but I'm skeptical of the plastic frame) and hope nothing brakes in it. Today's sketch is completely digital and was done fairly quickly. I think it came out pretty well for a quick sketch. In case anyone is wondering it's based off the city of heroes mmorpg which is a really fun game. Night All.

Computer Problems

Had some computer issues today one of my fans disintegrated on me. I'm still not sure why. Consequently, I don't have a lot sketch wise to post. This is a quick color of a sketch I've had around on my computer for a while. Just playing around with different things. Well night All I have to figure out if I can get a new fan for this case or if I need a new one. Night All.

Typical Wednesday Now With 50% More Sketching

A pretty typical day. I worked on website stuff got in a bit of a snag and worked though it. I worked on some scripts. I really like the way one of them is coming along. Got a page done and ready to scan for color. I also did some sketching. This sketch is a quick one I laid out and colored up as a trial. It came out alright. So I think I'll follow this like with the cleaned up inks when I get to them. Night all.

A Slightly Better Day

I had a bit of a long day again. I did some quick digital sketch and paint off of some army references as a warm up today. This is one came off pretty well. Night All.

Ow! My Eyes

This is what happens if you work on a website all day, read a cyberpunk comic, watch a presidental debate and then try and draw something when your really tired. Ow! Eyes All burry. Something better tomorrow. Night All.

Meh! It Was Sunday.

A long Sunday. I got lots of website stuff done today though and I can see the finish line. I did a quick digital sketch of Li-ma in some water. It came out all right, I didn't have a lot of time. I like the expression on her face though. Night All.

Full Speed From Illustrator To Dreamweaver

I spent all day again transferring stuff from Illustrator through Photoshop to it's final resting place in Dreamweaver. Every things going well and all parties are happy with the product so far, which makes me also happy. I didn't get to draw to much today so this is a very rough quick sketch that I scanned in and did a quick color test on. I like the general idea of this panel but there are some glaring flaws in it ... well at least to me. Also some character details are all wrong. I think that shows how tired I am right now. I'm off to get some sleep. Night All.

Long Day But Productive

It was a long day for me today but I got quite a bit accomplished so I'm rather pleased with my self. I didn't get to sketch a whole lot today but here's an example of what I did sketch. I like the curve of the spine in this one and the way the elbow juts out. Night All.

More Website Pain And Yummy Pasta

Spent most of the day working on making a website more childish... don't ask. I also made pasta that was especially yummy so that was awesome. Looking over my recent sketch posts I noticed that I haven't posted any guys lately. So I did a really quick digital sketch of your generic shirt riping superpose. Not a great post today but I didn't have a lot of time today. I'll refine this a bit more later. Hmm, if this guy was a superhero what would his name be? Night All.

Illustrator Makes My Eyes All Blurry

I spent a lot of the day making shiny web page layouts in Illustrator. I did get some pencil and paper sketching in today too. Today's sketch is a quick rough and color test of one of my characters for a panel in a story page I'm putting together. I was working on how I wanted the light and shadow to look. Night All.

I Fought The Flash Calendar And I Won

Today, I spent a lot of time figuring out how to get a XML flash calender functioning. My brain hurts now. Just a quick pencil sketch of a warrior woman. It needs a little tweaking. Okay I'm exhausted now. Night All.

The General Run Around

Today was a bit more productive than yesterday. I'm hoping that this week will be very productive. I'm getting a bit better sketching on the Wacom tablet. I really like the shape of this one. Night All.

Lots Of Odds And Ends

I had a hard time getting motivated today. I'm not sure why. I did a lot of different things today, but couldn't really get in to anything in a ordered or focused manner. I'll blame it on Sundays. In any case I did a lot of scripting today. I also played more with sketching in Photoshop. This was a really quick twenty or so minute sketch, but I really like how it came out even though it doesn't have a finish look to it. I'm kind of getting a good vibe from it, maybe I'll do a short story based off it. That's it for today, Night All.

Learning More About Digital Sketching

I'm feeling a bit better today. I've been messing around in Photoshop today sketching and coloring. Today's sketch probably looks very familiar to you. I did a regular pencil sketch of this character before, so what I did was use that as a reference. I wanted to see how close I could get too my pencil sketch when sketching digitally. I think it came out fairly close. After I played around with color in different ways. This is the one I liked the best. Let me know what you think. Night All.

Sleeping In and Cleaning

I slept in way long today, which of course leads me to think that my analysis of being sick may be correct. I spent most of the day cleaning up around the house and doing laundry. Today's sketch is off of a fashion model I saw online. I really liked the look so I'm going to model the design of one of my characters using a lot of the design of the elements. I need to add a few more things to fit the character still, though. I just laid in a quick flat of the general color scheme to get the feel of her. I think it's coming along well so far. Night All.

Blurry Webdesign Eyes

I spent most of the day working on website stuff again and my eyes are a little blurry. I also made the usual fruit smoothie but today I used orange juice instead of mango and for some reason the end product tasted like cotton candy or bubblegum. So I figure I either sick and my taste buds are messed up or something else is wrong and I'm not sure what. I just did a quick layout of the colors for the panel that I did the digital sketch of yesterday. It needs just a little tightening up and color refinement to be a finished product but I'm very happy with it so far. I need to see about scaling up the size some.

Pie And Digital Sketching

Saw the family off on their trip up north. We had pie at bakers square before they took off. MMM delicious pie. After cranking a bit more out on the website revamp, AKA learning new stuff in flash and Dreamweaver. I felt like trying to put together a fully digital sketch. I seem to have gotten better on my Wacom tablet. I'm always wanting to look at the stylus instead of the screen. I through a few filters over the top of the sketch to make it feel more painterly. I think I give a wet feel to the panel. What do you think? Night All.

Working On The Website

Very tired today. I did get a lot done on the website today. I learned some new things script wise and in flash. The expression in today's sketch pretty much sums up how I feel right now. I also like the shape of the head in this sketch. Night All.

Working On The Website All Day

I worked all day on the website today and yesterday. It's moving towards completion. I almost forgot to post something today again. This is the sketch I would have posted yesterday but forgot too, I didn't have time to do anything today. Energy Effecient Bulbs And Batsquatch

Today's been a bit of a lazy day. I changed my bulbs out for energy efficient ones that dim. They provide quite a bit of light actually which is nice. There was only one kind in the store however and I not sure I'm really in love with the quality of light these give out. They are okay for now though. Today's sketch is a preliminary design of a batsquatch for a story I'm working on. Don't know what that is look it up. You have your nerd home work. Just kidding. It's only a quick rough so not much detail. Night All.

Lazy Day And Iowa

A bit of a lazy day today. I got some scripting done and did some page roughs for a story I'm working on. This is an example. There are some obvious anatomy issues that need fixing from the sketch but over all the layout looks good. I watched the Iowa caucus today. Obama won by quite good margin for the Democrats. Huckabee won for the Republicans. That's all for today. Night All.
