Going To Try And Resurrect This.

A little quick couple minute sketch after I read an article about scientists stimulating squid cells with electrical shocks set to the beat of music. In case you’re wondering its Cyprus Hill as squid. In any case I'm off to make breakfast and I think I'll start posting sketches here regularly again.  

Applogies For Lack Of Imagry

Sorry, no pictures today, I just started a world literature course and have been consumed in text. I'll try to get some stuff up later today. As a consolation here is my biography poem for the first assignment in my new course. I could have done well or completely failed the assignment well see, but I wanted to try something new and different for me. I tried to do it in the Shichigon-zekku style. I'm not sure I was successful. Anyway I'm tired. Night All.

Short Biographic Poem

Snow filled year nineteen seventy nine

Water flows by the place of healing

Parents joyful, welcome a first son’s dawn

What time has a scorpion to float?



Sleeping in a walled room of stars

Points of light sparkle yet are empty

Distance filled by posted imagination poured paper

What voids dark chasm can thought breach?



A house of knowledge filled self absorption

Surrounding packs of vicious peers draw near

Conform draw to biology not paint stroke

How long can creativity conform to safety?



Seventy leagues traversed to highland of rams

Atop a hill crown structures of stone

Here squares within squares is scholarliness sought

Can two knowledges be served and retained?



Sailing black rivers, sun shining, horizons opened

Island home foreboding waves grow lashing shore

Water’s freeze, horizons narrow, light is dimmed

Can knowledge produce, if none can hear?



Mother’s mother sits mind running, body silent

Surrounded by shades family love fills all

Fading knowledge smolders but humor burn bright

What is left last humor or choice?



Surrounding humming electronics make far friends close

Chair beckons, perception drifts, to pixilated worlds

Worrisome mind soothed by pixilated life’s allure

ARRRRR!!! Sword Fight Final

So my dynamic figure drawing course is almost complete just a few more critiques to do. This is the extra credit and the final for the course. I think it came out pretty well. I could definitely see it being an illustration for a children’s book drawn and colored this way. It's in graphite and colored on the computer. In other news I hope everyone got their pouchki or paczki yesterday? I’m never sure how to say it. I know I had my "fair" share. I'll need to run today and start to work them off. So my next course is World literature and the book is huge but looks sooo good. Anyway back to critiquing. Night All.

Image Manipulation Through Dreams

I've been working hard it's finals for the dynamic drawing class. So I didn’t have time to sketch and scan. This is my final from the digital manipulation course I took. I think it came out pretty well. It was a fun course. More drawings will be forthcoming tomorrow. Night All.

Late Night Finals And Belated Posting

Sorry for the late post again, I'll try to post again today at some point. Somehow at the end of each session I end up staying up late and being generally exhausted. It's okay though I thought a head and made the spicy baked penne pasta which is easy to heat up so hopefully I won't have to many late nights. Today's sketch is the rough draft of the final project. I already see several things wrong with it but they can be fixed when I draw the final. I was feeling pirates so I went with it. Okay really tired so I'm off to sleep. Night All.

Abstraction And Mango Ice

I'm sitting here working on a drawing for class which is suppose to be an abstract drawing. I think it's coming allong pretty well. The mango ice next to me is delicious. In other news, I'm feeling pretty accomplished today I got a lot done and yet still have a lot to do so I'm going to keep this short. Night All.

Early Morning Groggies And What I've Been Up To

Okay everyone, I apologize for letting my blog laps for so long but I'm back to posting hopefully daily again starting now. I've gotten back in to college over the past year and I should so be enrolled into the Game Art & Design program at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online. I normally take two courses every 5 1/2 weeks and am a little over a year in now. Things are settling down around here and I'm getting my life more organized which is good for me. Yesterday I made Spicy BBQ Turkey Burgers, I'm going to have to work on them a little bit and find the right sauce to go over the top they are really good. I'm thinking a white cheese and maybe bacon as well might be good toppers. Any ideas? Over the next few days I'm going to work back through the class work I've done and share the better stuff. The stuff for today is from my Dynamic Figure Drawing course which I'm in the fifth week of currently. First we have a drawing of my hand in charcoal, a self portrait, a drawing of Discobolus, roman copy of the Greek bronze sculpture by Myron, a running figure, and this week’s first attempt at fashion illustration. Okay Getting Back To It.

Lots of changes lately, the biggest being I'm working towards a degree in Game Art & Design as soon as I get though a few of these other courses. I'll go over the new stuff in the post tomorrow gonna collapse today, but i wanted to start the month off right. Here is some stuff from my last class it was in Typography. All Day Fixing Cable

Getting In The Groove With Limited Connections

Trying to get back in the grove at home but the internet connection is wonky its not off just performing at dial up speed intermittently. Some ones coming out tomorrow to look at it. So today's sketch is a painterly collage i like it well see if i cant use it anywhere. Night All.

Home Again Home Again

The trip home was not too bad. Nat and I helped mom with the chores at the cabin this morning before we headed home. Hopefully there wont be too much for her to do when she heads up next. Only one sketch today cause of the travel. I'm working on a layout for a story and this popped in my head for some reason. I like the composition of it. I'm not sure it'll work in the story though. Night All.

Last Day Of Vacation

Last day up at the cottage was chilly but it went well. I made breakfast orange pancakes and lemon butter. I also made cookies for the rest of the family for their drives back Oatmeal cookies. There were chores to do after everyone got off so, not much in the way of drawing today i do have thees two though the environment I'm working on I'm not sure it looks cliffy enough and a quick two tone inking. Well I'm pretty tired tonight so I'm off to bed. Night All.

Got Up And Skiing Plus Yummy Waffles

Today was pretty cool. Made buttermilk waffles which were a big hit. I also got some skiing time in today. Everyone had a great day today which made mom happy. We got to see some pretty cool videos of David playing with his band on the Tv. Oh and dad water skied today jumping in and out of the wake almost gave mom a heart attack. Todays sketches of an environtment i'm working on for a concept art portfolio and the other is of two fairies. Night All.

Long Day's Powered By Pancakes

Today was a lot of fun I made pancakes this morning which were a big hit. I made muffins with the batter afterwards and those were delicious as well. Everyone enjoyed the wonderful weather today and stayed at the beach from noon till 5ish which was good cause I woke up around 6 o'clock after staying up till 2 o'clock. I got one of my problem scripts all straighted out for a few pages which was good. Today's sketch is of Kaori again it's for a panel I'm working on. I really like the shape of the graphic in the second one. Okay exhausted for some reason. Hopefully the weather hold tomorrow and we can do some water skiing. Night All.

Family Arrivals

Spent most of the day preparing for relatives then hanging out with said relatives. Uncle Gary, Aunt Mel and David are due to arrive soon. Really great day didn't get much drawn. Did get some scripting done. Here's a test color for one of the sketches from yesterday and an abstraction of those colors. Also the cottage computer screen went out so i got mine to do dial up somehow. Okay exhausted. Night All

Clear Day Interupted By Painful Fingers

Another perfect day at the cottage it was cool out and clear with a bright blue sky. I got some scripting done or well at least modded a script i had in to a drawable form. I seem to have this problem with accidentally injuring my drawing hand. Mom had this pole that we use up here to put a bird feeder on a high branch. It's on of those metal telescoping poles. In any case as i was collapsing it i wasn't paying appropriate attention and I slammed down on my index finger pinching it so now it's all swollen and has blood blisters on it. I'm just glad i didn't break it. I also seem to function okay post couple hours on ice. Mom has these huge dandelions in a vase on the table at the cabin. I'm totally fascinated by there shape so one sketch today is and abstract of that. The other is a test work up of a sketch that will be a panel in story I'm working on not finished but I'm still playing with they way i want the style to come out . Dad also made it up today which is good the rest of the relatives arrive tomorrow. All in all a good day, despite finger injuries. Night All.

Unacceptably Long Absence

An unacceptably long absence i don't know what to say except that I dropped of the face of the earth there for a bit and I'm sorry for that. Alots gone on since returning home I'll try and cover all that in the next couple posts. For now I have a couple quick speed paints i will try and upload a couple each day for awhile to get my blog all caught up. I'm up north for the annual family cottage vacation. We've more people this year than usual. I think it will be a lot of fun. I hope so. I seem to be attempting to get a little ill recently not sure just tired. I hope to up load each day should be able too, but it's dial up sooo well see. I feels good getting back to posting and i fully expect to get yelled at by everyone for being away for so long.
